SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM

Supported Employment Program assists individuals in successfully meeting their vocational goals, by finding paid employment opportunities in the community.  Consumers are directly placed, into works settings with support staff available to allow them to experience the true meaning of employment.

Valley Light Industries has been providing services to adults with developmental challenges for almost 50 years.  By providing a comprehensive service, many individuals with little to no vocational experience can elect to enroll in supported employment.

VLI offers a wide variety of placement opportunities with several different employers throughout San Gabriel Valley, with schedules varying workdays, morning and evening Shifts.
 
The well-managed support staff is often the key to a successful employment relationship between a consumer and community employer.  VLI maintains a tenured staff screened by the Department of Justice, First Aid and CPR certified, and monitored by the Department of Motor Vehicles.  All direct care staff receives extensive training, most importantly, they demonstrate their dedication to the consumers served on a daily basis through caring and compassionate support.

VLIs Supported Employment program carries a 97% successful stabilization rate.  Consumer feedback indicates that the vast majority is extremely satisfied with their job, pay and benefits with established companies throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
