This design/build contract work performed by Ferreira Construction included 3 individual canopies which protected the newly constructed entrances to the South Ferry Station of the NYCT #1 subway line.
The canopies were designed with ornamental stainless steel enclosure structures, laminated glass panels and strain relief fitting systems. The glass panels were engineered as segmental units with radius front edges and square back edges. The construction of the canopies was coordinated with the opening schedule for the new Subway Station and was completed within the required 3 month time-frame.
