Colombia confirmed its first three cases of monkeypox in adults who had traveled from Europe and are now in quarantine, the country's Ministry of Health said.

Two cases were found in the capital, Bogot?, and the third in Colombia's second city, Medell?n.

Monkeypox is a disease that causes symptoms of fever, a characteristic rash, and muscle and back pain, as well as other symptoms, the Health Ministry said on Thursday night.

Argentina was the first country in Latin America to report disease cases, followed by Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, and Chile.
