Through a special partnership between the National Institute of Flamenco and Heritage Hotels and Resorts, Tablao Flamenco Albuquerque arose as an exclusive venue dedicated to presenting the very finest flamenco in its most intimate performance format. Modern meets traditional in this beautiful venue located in Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town. Enjoy dynamic world-class performances from local, national, and international flamenco artists, accompanied by an exquisite four-course dinner by chef Gilbert Aragon (on Friday and Saturday evenings), and regionally inspired wines and spirits.
A tablao is an intimate venue where flamenco shows are performed, highlighting the improvisation between the baile (dance), cante (song), and toque (guitar). Inspired by the Cafés Cantantes of Andalucía in the 19th century, the modern tablao emerged in the 1950s, and was made popular during the 1950s and 1960s throughout Spain. The built-in intimacy between performers and artists has resulted in the emergence of master artists for generations. Every major city in Spain has a tablao, as tablaos house the artistic expression and interchange that is flamenco.
