Research

The University of Idaho Office of Research and Economic Development enables, supports, performs and promotes research and scholarly and creative activities that address the needs and expectations of the state, region, and world.

Our vision is that UI activities will expand knowledge, provide solutions, foster an enhanced quality of life and cultivate an educated 21st-century citizenry.

UI expends over $109 million in research dollars annually — top among public universities in Idaho. We are classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a higher research activity university.
