Colusa Veterans Services

Colusa Veterans Services Office (CVSO) is dedicated to assisting veterans, their dependents, and survivors in obtaining the benefits they have earned from federal, state, and local agencies. Established by the Board of Supervisors, CVSO is an advocate for veterans' rights and operates independently of the federal Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CDVA). Our comprehensive services include assistance with health and dental care, compensation and pension claims, military records and decorations requests, veterans claims representation, education and training, vocational rehabilitation, VA and Cal Vet home loans, property tax exemptions, specialized licenses, state parks and recreation passes, life insurance, and burial and survivor benefits. We also address the specific needs of women veterans and homeless veterans and facilitate California college tuition fee waivers. To ensure a smooth claims process, veterans are encouraged to gather essential documents such as discharge papers (DD214), marriage and divorce certificates, birth certificates for dependents, Social Security documents, and death certificates.
