Continuing Education Seminars

The Balloon Federation of America (BFA) offers a Continuing Education Program designed to enhance the safety and knowledge of hot air balloon enthusiasts. This program mandates a minimum of seven hours of instructional time at seminars and conferences, covering essential topics such as weather conditions, pilot decision-making, accident analysis, and crew training. These sessions are rigorously reviewed and approved by the BFA Continuing Education Sanction Manager. Upon completion, seminar organizers must submit attendee details for confirmation and insurance verification, potentially qualifying for insurance discounts. The program also supports submissions to the FAA's WINGS program to further validate the training. For details on hosting a seminar and the necessary pre-approvals, interested parties should contact the Continuing Education Sanction Manager.
